This is my first electric mower. I have roughly 1/2 acre of grass to mow. I took it out today to mulch up some lingering leaves from last fall and it worked great, plenty of power, and I don't really mind pulling an extension cord.
One note though, it is not sealed, the motor gets very dirty during use. I suggest opening up and cleaning regularly with a blast of compressed air or a leaf blower. The screws don't come out easy - I'm going to replace them with quick release pins so I can throughly clean mine up after every use.

Amazon is showing a COLEMAN OUTDOOR EXTENSION CABLE 10 AMP that is frequently "bought together" with this mower. Correct that this is not enough amps?
Answer
No, the 10amp would be too light use for this equipment and you will likely destroy the motor/have issues. You require at least 12 Amp rating (i.e. '16 Gauge' for 50ft length, or '14 gauge' for 100ft cable; that's what the owner's manual recommended. Note the longer the cable length you need, the higher rating you will need). I had electrical issues with this model of mower anyway, so I returned it and purchased another brand - I also went for a higher rating cable i.e. 16 gauge (I have a 100ft cable) to be safe and because that's what that manufacturer recommended for their 12amp mower. Hope this helps, THE LESSON IS.... just be careful not to buy a low rated cord because you want to save money - it will cost you in the end when the mower breaks.Check what the manufacturer recommends on their website. see less

I've never used the 25021 so I can't compare, but I'm really happy with the 25022. It has enough power to cut through some pretty rough growth, and obviously it will mow your lawn faster since the cutting diameter is wider. I've been really pleased with the cut--my lawn looks as manicured as a golf course when I'm finished.

My lawn is shaded by large Live Oak trees, and they shed twigs constantly, and acorns in season. Will this mower be able to handle it?

I have a hickory tree, live oaks and pine in my yard that shed nuts and twigs almost constantly. The GreenWorks has
