Aquaponic Plants What Can I grow

a large commercial aquaponic system

Aquaponic plants what can I grow?? You may be wondering what types of veggies that you can grow using an aquaponic system. Well, actually almost any plant will grow in your system.

You can grow plants that have their fruit under the ground. I know it doesn't seem like it but you can. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, I could name more but, you get the idea.

Fruity vegetables will grow in an aquaponic set-up like cumbers, strawberries, tomatoes, squash, okra, peppers, melon, will all do good with aquaponics.

Herbs like basil and oregano. Different types of peas and beans as well as green leafy vegetables grow very well in this type of system.

What is going to amaze you is the taste of your veggies and legumes. It is hard to believe that such good tasting vegetables can be grown in your house or garage.

They will have a better taste than the ones you get at the store. Let's face it the food you buy at the stores are getting tasteless. What is even better is that they will be 100 percent natural, totally organic and have no other chemical improvements. Just the best of the plants. Having healthier and tastier food will put a smile on anyone's face.

If you want to have great tasting vegetables, especially tomatoes, you need to buy heritage seeds. That way you will know that you don't have modified plants. Then you can enjoy the real taste of your harvested veggies, the way they were meant to taste. What can be better than that?

It's no wonder that traditional farming is starting to lose ground in favor of the new ways of growing plants. Most people have directed their attention towards hydroponic farming which enables them to grow vegetables in their own house or their garage just using water and some specially designed pots. Yet, the drawback of the hydroponic farming is the fact that you will need to use chemical substances to feed the plants and make them grow normally. This significantly affects the taste and the quality of the crops.

When you use an aquaponic system, this won't happen. Aquaponic relies on the symbiosis between plants and fish. Thus, you can define aquaponics as a mixture of aquaculture and hydroponics, where you get to grow both plants and fish in a perfect interdependence. Because of this, you will never need to use any type of chemical substances, thus resulting tastier and healthier crops. Only placing a small amount of chemicals in the water will immediately have serious effects on the fish, endangering their lives and you do not want that to happen.

By now you should know that the aquaponic plants that you can grow depend on what you want to eat. Happy growing.
