The first building you will see is the Fire and Rescue. It was established in 1891. The white building with red trim really stands out proud.
This is a side view with the printing of west theatre on the top right corner, of the second level. of the building. I like the little mountain in the background. The artistic brick work is a welcome change.
1889 is the marking at the top of the building. I think that is when it was built. It has light reddish brick with a very decorative stone work out of whitish stone. They use the stone to accent all the upper story windows and the top of the first story windows.
The mural has the sun in the left side of the wall. It has a lot of trees and mountain. It also has small things like the fox sleeping at the base of a tree, a covered wagon, a mule pulling coal, flowers, train pulling coal, brown bear. In the middle there is a light pole and mural changes to fall. The trees have fall colored leaves or bare branches. There is a deer and looks like a goat. Indian tee-pee with a fire and smoke.
This blondish brick work is accented with a lighter and decorative stone. The stone work also accents the top and bottom of the windows. The window frame are the same green color as the awning covering the door on the corner of the building.
I just can't help it I like Gothic architecture, I always have. There is at least one church steeple. It does look good with the tree and statues for the coal miners in the foreground.
The first national bank. With the name written in stone. This five story building is constructed out of light colored stone.
This is the best looking building to me. With the first floor being mostly glass and the decorative brown brick and dark gray frame around the windows. The rounded the corner for the door and have rounded bay windows on the second floor. The brick used on the second floor is a bit redder with the same dark gray trim. The second floor is accented with the brown brick.
They where closed so I just got the frontage
This yellowish brick building with it's whitish stone trim and decorative accents goes really nice together. Then the corner entrance sets it off. I don't know why but, I just like squaring the corner for an entrance.
