Parts of a Lawnmower
Lawnmowers
are usually composed of several parts, each with a particular job in making the entire machine work. This makes mowers
simple and complex at the same time.
Simple because being familiar with each of them makes replacing each part easy as long as one knows what needs to be changed.
They are also complex because it takes a competent mechanic to know where a particular part goes and to service the machine.
Don?t worry though, because if you?re just an ordinary lawnmower owner, we?ve listed for you some of the basic parts of a lawnmower.

Lawn Care Products that are Naturally Safe for Humans and Pets
Pet owners are rightfully worried about spraying their lawns with any number of toxic chemicals which can pose significant health risks for not only their pets but family members as well.
However, there is actually very little reason to be worried at all as you will find out. There is only a small chance that improper pesticide
or herbicide
application will pose a health risk, and that small chance is entirely negated with proper application.
With proper usage, all lawn care
products are pet safe, although you can purchase specifically natural pet safe
lawn care products. Either way, you’ll be protecting your pets

Large Yard? No Problem with Commercial Lawn Care Products
Home owners with large yards probably find normal lawn care equipment to be inadequate to meet their needs. Large yards are one of the primary reasons why people upgraded from push mowers to riding lawn mowers
, as they could cut the same area of yard in a much shorter time span.
If you're a lawn care professional
or simply like to take care of your yard, then commercial lawn care products are perfect for getting the job done quickly. Professionals will find this equipment absolutely necessary for their job, although home owners may wish to save some money on the products they buy.

periodically. There are other tasks to be done to keep the grass
green and growing and by using some of the available lawn maintenance equipment the job can be made easier.
Those who are not fond of spending their free time with the lawn mower
may not appreciate the need to keep the grass
well maintained, but are finding it less labor-intensive when they use the right lawn maintenance equipment.

Buying Used Lawn Care Equipment
There really is nothing wrong with buying used lawn care equipment, provided it was well maintained and does not cost as much as buying the same thing new. Equipment that was taken care of by the original owner can be just as good as buying something new, provided the used lawn care equipment is not expected to last as long as a new item. While it may work just as good as a new one, it may not have the same life expectancy.

The powerful 24-volt battery system delivers consistent performance and eliminates tricky pull-starts and noisy operation, so you can have all the performance of a gas-powered motor without any of the hassles. And not only is this mower powerful, but it's also a zero-emissions tool, so you can get the job done while protecting the environment.
Designed to Save You Time and Effort over the Long Term
The wide 20-inch cutting path and heavy-duty steel mower deck ensure efficient, long-lasting performance. With wide 20-inch coverage, your lawn will require fewer passes, which will save you both time and effort.
Navigating tough, uneven terrain is made easy by the composite seven-inch front wheels and over sized 9-1/2 inch rear wheels, which have ball bearings for better maneuverability and longer life. And the V-handle with cushion grip offers greater control over tough terrain and provides comfort. A nice bonus, the handle folds down so you can easily store the mower.
Single-lever Height Control for Easier Adjustments
Instead of having to adjust each wheel when changing the height of the mower blade, the Earthwise 60120 Cordless Electric Mower features a single-lever height control system that makes it easier than ever to adjust the height of the cut. You can choose between seven height positions, ranging from 1-1/2 to four inches.
The single-lever height control is just one feature that makes the 60120 so easy to use. Other ease-of-use features include the handle-mounted safety-blade control, the easy on/off mulch plug, and the lift handle lock that releases the battery from its compartment. In addition, this mower assembles with no tools required--simply hand-tighten several components and you're ready to go!

About American Lawn Mower Company
HistoryIn 1895 three men took on a partnership to manufacturer push reel mower to sell in Richmond Indiana. (As previously stated it is still a family owned and operated.) William F. Spencer II, George M. Spencer, and Robert B. Kersey were the three men that in 1895 founded the American Lawn Mower Company, to handle the up rise, of the prosperous, urban middle class, after the Civil War.
Other companies have started as early as 1870. But, American Lawn Mower Company quickly established itself as a leader in the manufacturing of quality hand-push reel grass trimmer. By 1896 the company sold 4,000 mowers per year, with prices ranging from $2.20 for the cheaper models to $4.75 for it's Wayne model that featured a 21 inch cut.
By 1930 the American Lawn Mower Company boasted of making 127 different models, capturing 46% of the foreign trade and shipping their product to 37 different countries. They also produced school desk, blackboard and other school related product under the name Richmond School Furniture Company.
The Great Depression came and the American Lawn Mower Company bought a rival company. The Great States Corporation of Shelbyville, a competing reel mower business. In the 1980s the company transferred its manufacture of mowers to the Shelbyville location. In 1998 the business continued to build mowers using both the Great States and American labels.
After World War 2 the power mower started dominating the market. They tried and fail at making a profitable power mower. So, they continued manufacturing the environmentally friend mower. Up to the 90's most of the consumer of the push reel mower was over sixty. But, the 90's was the start of the environmentally conscious Americans.
With major improvement to the lawn mower- being lighter, blade stays sharper longer and the fact that the reel mower is substantially cheaper, to purchase and operate, than the power mower, spurred a rise in sales. From 1985 to 1996 sales increased by 150 percent. By 1997 most buyers were under sixty and lived on lots that were less than a quarter acre in size, and more than half of the owners were women.
In 1998 the company employed close to seventy-five people at both the Muncie and Shelbyville locations and expected to sell more than 250,000 mowers, and projected record sales of more than $1 million. The firm ships its products to several nations including England, Australia, Canada, and Saudi Arabia and hopes to expand operations into more of the world. It currently commands 94 percent of the American market, but less than 10 percent of foreign purchases. Robert Kersey, the grandson of one of the founders, is president.

Earthwise 20-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower, Model 60120
Review:
5 out of 5 Stars
By CA Heidi on March 31, 2009
I got tired of messing with gasoline, oil, and the mixing, pouring, and spilling of the two, so I gave all my lawn equipment away and hired a gardener - 2 years later realize what a mistake - all gardener does is mow grass every 2 weeks and charge $$$$ for everything else. So I decided to to take back my yard and went online to research electric mowers and decrease my carbon footprint.
I was all ready to purchase a corded model when I came across the Earthwise 20" 24 volt cordless rechargeable. I must admit that I was very apprehensive about cordless, I've owned many gutless cordless power tools. During my research of the Earthwise I ran across a video that showed the lawnmower in action - I was sold. I purchased immediately and have been extremely pleased.
This mower has all the power that I could ever need to take care of my yard (approx. 1/4 acre of grass, with some on a slope). The battery came fully charged and I had the mower out of the box, fully assembled (very easy), and out mowing withing 20 minutes. Used the grass catcher just to see how it worked (did a great job), then took it off and have mulched ever since (this machine turns your grass into the minutest particles).
It is very well constructed (the deck is metal - this is good), the height adjustment could not be easier (one lever adjusts all wheels - again, very good), it pushes very easily (thanks to the ball-bearing wheels), and the handle folds to make for very compact storage.
My yard and I am happy again!

Question
just charged the battery and the red light on the mower comes on while running. Does this mean the battery is bad?
Answer
Was the battery fully charged before use? Did the light turn red immediately or shortly after using? You should get an hour at least regardless of lawn thickness before it goes to red.

How to Buy a Riding Lawn Mower
The riding lawn mower allows you to sit on the lawnmower and do the same work, just like you are used to doing while pushing. Just faster and easier. It has a lot of power and since there are so many in the market, here are some tips to help you shop for one.
When looking for a lawn mower, pay attention to the deck. The best ones to get should measure between 38 to 42 inches so that you will be able to cut the lawn much faster. Don’t forget to also check what obstacles there are. Getting the widest blade available is useful as long as you can mow between the obstacles. (trees, rock, planted areas)

What is a Lawn Mower with an Annual Tune-Up Video
If one of your household chores as a child was to mow the lawn, you pretty much know what a lawnmower is. For those who don’t, it is a machine that has one or more revolving blades decides to cut grass at an even length.
There are two types of lawn mowers. The first is the push type model while the other one is the ride mower. The push type model is ideal for use in small residential gardens and lawns. For larger spaces like a football field or a golf course, you will need to use a riding lawn mower.

About Friendly Robotics
Friendly Robotics is a retailer of autonomous lawnmowers (e.g. Robomow) and vacuum cleaners (e.g. Friendly Vac). It was founded in Pardesiya, Israel in 1995, by Udi Peless and Shai Abramson. It supplies its products to the markets of the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Plans for the company include a robotic mop. The company has been mentioned in several magazines including Design News, Business Wire, Washington Home and Garden, and Vanity Fair. Prices on the firm's products range from several hundred to a few thousand dollars. The products are claimed to be rechargeable, environmentally safe, and child friendly.
History
Friendly Machines started in 1995 with the goal of constructing robots that will, as Udi Peless says in Space Daily, "move in and around the home, doing the mundane tasks that people do not like to do anymore", automating many chores at home. The company name was changed to Friendly Robotics in 2000. In 1998 the first Robomow was released in Israel. Around this time the Robotroll, an automatic golf caddy, had been produced. In early 1999 the Robomow was released in Continental Europe and the UK. Following this Friendly Robotics signed a strategic alliance with Stiga concerning the distribution of robotic lawnmowers in Europe. An alliance was also made with Toro Co. for distribution in the United States, where Toro Marketed them under the brand name "Imow". In 2002 Friendly Robotics entered into an alliance with the Hoover Co.
In 2004 Friendly Robotics introduced a robotic vacuum cleaner called the "Friendly Vac". All products of the company have zero emissions and are green. Zimbio.com describes the Friendly Robotics 85400 Robomower RM400 Robotic Cordless Electric Lawn Mower as "Environmentally friendly; zero emissions and extremely quiet" The firm's customer service and sales in the US are handled by IRT.
Future Plans
As of 1998 Mr Peless said they had many ideas for other robots ranging from snow removers to floor polishers. In an April 2006 phone interview Chief Executive Udi Peless did say that future products were anywhere from 5 to 10 years away. During this time Peless has said that new model's of the Robomow will be worked on, but no information about them will be given out.

Verified Purchase
i have wanted one theses mowers and i have looked around at reviews and competitors for years before finally making the purchase. I had a rider that finally died and i push mowed the .5 acre and used this as the opportunity to buy this. i didnt know that it needs to charge and mow multiple times to complete the task. i am not worried about this just didnt know that is the process. i am so happy with the results and it will take a week to get the results you expect and fix ruts, holes , and imperfections you may have. the mower will find them for you haha. i didnt know my unit came with the GSM module that communicates to my phone if it gets stuck! i was in town when i got it and was shocked! great addition!
Robomow Battery Operated Lawn Mower Frequently Asked Questions
Question I've got a separate front and back yard. Can this critter mow both or is it restricted to one yard?Answer If they are connected it can be set-up to mow both on its own. If not connected you have to carry it from front to back and vice verse. I have 1 season in with front and Back yard and had set-up 2 zones. Works pretty much flawless.

Thank you for taking your time to read my post "Robomow Battery Operated Lawn Mower ". I hoped that you found it informative. If you would like to check out some lawn mowers you can go to my eLawn Mower Page or my eZero Turn Lawn Mower Page. This pages are powered by Amazon. I would send you to my Lawn Mower Page but, I haven't talked about many lawnmowers. That is going to change. But you might be interested in some of my posts listed below, or on my sitemap page. If all else fails there might be something interesting in the related articles. Take your time and check out my site. With some feedback I could make it better. And receiving a comment, (especially without the sender wanting a link to their site), is like, a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. Thanks again and Y'all come back now.
